Happy Thanksgiving Week, my friends!  It’s that time of year again…the time when everyone is super happy and full of cheer, which also means it’s the time when most start shopping for friends and family for Christmas gifts.  For me, when it comes to Christmas shopping (or any shopping, for that matter), I like to support local.  And when shopping local means supporting fellow entrepreneur friends, it makes it all the more fun and exciting!  So this year, I want to feature Lakes and Grapes for Small Business Saturday.

I’m super passionate about this company for numerous reasons.  First of all, it was started by my friend, Abby Clear, out of Traverse City, Michigan.  Traverse City has a special place in my heart, because my mom’s family is from that area.  So we frequently visited TC all throughout my childhood.  I absolutely love everything about the area and am super familiar with it!  Secondly, Lakes and Grapes represents our Great Lakes here in Michigan, along with our incredible wine on the west side of the state–two things that are near and dear to my heart.

Now, when it comes to Christmas shopping, I want to give gifts with meaning.  And Lakes and Grapes does just that.  They have gifts for both men and women, and they’re not gifts that everyone else has.  Nothing is worse than getting something that every other person has.  I don’t know about you, but I prefer my gifts to be original and to mean something on both the side of the giver and the recipient.  Furthermore, when I can support my friends and family and their business endeavors, it makes it all the more meaningful.
